Abstract

Currently, for countries with large reserves of energy resources in the form of hydrocarbons, the method of transporting natural gas, oil and petroleum products through trunk pipelines to users is still the most rele-vant. At the same time, the operational reliability and safety of these pipelines primarily depends on the quality of their main structural elements – pipes. Pipe quality regulation is a key factor for addressing issues of ensuring the system reliability and safety of pipeline transport. In this regard, the article analyzes the technical requirements of various standards for large diameter welded steel pipes made by welding under a layer of flux (according to the classification of foreign standards – SAW pipes) for trunk pipelines. The scope of application and the main technical requirements for pipes are considered, given in the international standard ISO 3183:2019, the Chinese standard GB/T 9711-2023, the American standard API Spec 5L, 46th edition, the Russian standards GOST 31447–2012 and GOST R 56403–2015, the Ca-nadian standard CSA Z245.1:22. In terms of geometric parameters, the tolerances for wall thickness, di-ameter, permissible ovality of pipes, their curvature, and parameters of the longitudinal welded joint are presented. In terms of chemical composition, the permissible sulfur and phosphorus content and weldabil-ity parameters are presented. The requirements for microstructure of metal of pipes, values of impact strength and test temperatures are given. The results of the analysis of the existing technical requirements make it possible to take them into account when developing new and updating existing standards, and to select a regulatory document according to which pipes for newly designed trunk pipelines should be manu-factured.
