Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The editorial board recommends authors to follow the guidelines.

    The articles which do not meet the requirements are not considered by the editorial board:

    1. To the Editor provides a printed version of Article (14 pt font) and its electronic version (MS Word 2003 or earlier) under paragraph 5 of these rules, the expert opinion on the possibility of publishing articles in the press (the original), the contact information is responsible for the preparation of the manuscript .
    2 . Structure of the article : the title (no more than 15 words ) in Russian , the list of authors in Russian , the title of the article in English , the list of authors in English , abstract (200–250 words) in Russian , keywords in Russian (up to 3 words or expressions), abstract in English , keywords in English, text of the article , references (in order of citation, GOST 7.1-2003) .
    3 . After the text of the article followed information about the author (name, academic degree, academic title, place of employment, contact information (e-mail and Phone) for each author (if available) in Russian and English.
    4 . The volume of articles , including information about the authors - not more than 12 pages, for brief reports - not more than 5 pages.
    5 . Dialing options. Fields: mirrored; top, bottom - 2.3 cm; inside - 2.2 cm; outside - 2.5 cm; hardcover - 0. Indents to headers and footers - 1.8 cm. The text is typed into a single column, font - Times New Roman, 11 pt. Indent the first line of a paragraph - 0.8 cm Alignment - the width. Line spacing - single. Enable the automatic transfer. All quotes must be angled (" "). All characters " dash " should be of medium size ("–" , not "-") . Decimal separator in all elements of the article (text, formulas, tables, pictures) - comma. Writing digits (Arabic, Roman) in all elements of articles - direct (not italics).
    6. Formulas are entered in the formula editor Microsoft Equation indented 0.8 cm. Size of characters: regular - 11 pt, large index - 7 pt, small index - 6 pt.
    7. Images - black and white. If the pattern is not created by means of MS Office, you must provide it to the editor in electronic form in the format in which it is created (tiff, bmp, cdr, dxf , etc.). Raster graphics resolution of at least 300 dpi. Captions perform font Arial, 8 pt, bold.

  3. The abstract by the authors (annotation)

    is a brief resume of the full article. It can be published separately from basic text and hence should be clear without reference to the original article.

    The recommended size of annotation is about 120–250 words.

    The annotation should include the following aspects of the content of the article:

    • subject, topic and object of the article;
    • methods or methodology of the work;
    • results of the work;
    • sphere of application of the results of work;
    • conclusion.

    The annotation should contain the scientific content of the article, information about the problem under solution, methods of solution, results and conclusion. It shouldn’t have figures, formulae, bibliography and sources of financing as well as references. Diagrams, formulae, charts, figures, schemes are not accepted.

    The text of annotations should use the syntax of scientific and technical documents, complex grammatical structures are unacceptable.

    The author should present annotation in English as well. Terminology in the English version should be peculiar to foreign technical documentation. It is advisable to omit terminology which is the equivalent of the Russian terms. It is necessary to maintain the unity of terminology within annotation.

  4. Prepublication review of the articles (hereinafter referred to as articles),

    submitted for publication by the authors in periodical «Bulletin of SUSU, Series „Mechanical engineering industry“», is done in accordance with the following rules.

    Document flow in the process of prepublication review.

    1. 1. The articles submitted in accordance with the requirements are sent for prepublication review to publish them in «Bulletin of SUSU, Series "Mathematical Mechanical engineering industry "».
    2. The article is sent for prepublication review to the specialist in the corresponding sphere (hereinafter referred to as reviewer), who has the degree of Doctor of Science. A member of the editorial board can not be a reviewer.
    3. The period for prepublication review is up to one month starting from the moment of submission of the article.
    4. Within 2 weeks from the moment of getting a review the editorial board considers the review and makes a reasoned decision on the necessity to make some correction work of the article or possibility/impossibility to publish the article.
    5. The reasoned decision of the editorial board is given to the author within a week of it being made.

    Form and the content of review.

    1. The review is issued as a document of A4 format, font 14, single spaced with the margins of 2 cm.
    2. The review has a title of the following type: Review of the article (the title of the article) by (the name of the author).
    3. The text of the review includes:
      — the relevance of the problems;
      — novelty and value of the given methods of solution;
      — the level of novelty of scientific results;
      — practical relevance of the results;
      — style of presentation and literacy;
      — structure of the article.
    4. The review finishes with a final summary of strengths and weaknesses of the article.
    5. The review makes a conclusion about:
      — the possibility (practicality) to publishing the article in the Bulletin of SUSU, Series „Mechanical engineering industry“;
      — the possibility of publishing the article after error correction;
      — the impossibility (impracticality) to publish the article.
    6. The signature and full name of the reviewer with his degree and position should follow the text of the review.
