Abstract

The theoretical basis for the development of new rolling processes at the Department of Processes and Ma-chines for Metal Forming is the energy theory. With its help, over the 70 years of the department's exist-ence, more than a dozen new technological processes of cold and hot sheet rolling, rolling of precise pro-files, including shaped ones, profiles from difficult-to-deform metals and alloys, wire, and pipes have been developed. At present, the energy theory of rolling is successfully applied outside the department, helping to solve new problems dictated by modern conditions.
