Abstract

Using a comprehensive multi-level mathematical model of shape rolling and computer-aided design technology a research and training simulator “Shape rolling” was created. The simulator consists of a module for a technology engineer, a module for operator training, a module for on-mill staff, theoretical and technological modules and a service module.

The simulator is designed to learn the basics of production technology of hot rolled products; to familiarize with the design and characteristics of the main technological equipment of rolling mills; to acquire the design skills in rolling technology; to learn how to manage the rolling mill; to simulate and test the emergency situations; to control the knowledge in the field of technology and equipment of rolling production.

The simulator can be used for teaching the basics of rolling production; for monitoring and controlling rolling industrial enterprises. It can also be used in the institutions of higher and professional education.
