Abstract

The paper presents the results of studying the properties of 40S2A grade steel in relation to various stages of production of spring products. These studies made it possible to assess the feasibility of processes used in spring production. The performed researches showed that hot-rolled 40S2A steel after metallurgical conversion can not be directly used in the production of spring products without preliminary softening heat treatment, if operations of cold plastic deformation are included in the technological process. Based on the results of the performed studies, the parameters of some operations of processing of 40S2A steel are recommended.
