Submission Preparation Checklist

• Requirements for submission of articles

  The editorial board recommends authors to follow the guidelines and samples of articles when submitting them for publication. The articles which do not meet the requirements are not considered by the editorial board.

  The article should be typed with the use of text editor «LaTeX 2e» according to the example (see sample.tex), using of stylesheet vestnik.sty.

  Each article should have the following information:

  • last name, first name, middle name of the author (in full);
  • work position of the author (if any);
  • contact details (mail address; e-mail);
  • the title of the article;
  • annotation (120—250 words, formula and the list of references are not included);
  • key words (up to 5 words or expressions), the key words or expressions should be separated by commas;
  • Universal decimal classification codes;
  • MSC codes.

  The information should be submitted in the Russian and English languages (the sample is given sample.tex).

  At the end of the article a list of references and bibliographic reference are to be given. Here should be the sources which the author makes reference to.

  The list of references is to be submitted in accordance with All Union State Standard 7.1—2003 «Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description». General requirements and rules are formulated in accordance with quotation, all the sources are to be marked. Reference to the quoted sources in the text are to be given in the form of numbers corresponding to the number of the article in the list of references enclosed in square brackets. Sample of reference to the quoted sources: [1], [1, 2], [1, 2—4].

  Reference to unpublished articles is prohibited.

  The size of a document:

  Review Articles — up to 20 pages.
  Articles — up to 14 pages.
  Short Notes — up to 7 pages.

  Articles of a bigger size can be submitted for publication as an exceptional case at the editorial board’s decision.

  
  When submitting the article it is strongly recommended that you follow generally accepted article submission guidelines. It is recommended to useReference book of editor and author A. E. Milchin and L. K. Cheltsova, Moscow, 2009.

  In the text of the article slash should be used (\flqq, \frqq). In the whole text except the submission date all the dates are presented in the following manner: 31.12.2002.

  Moreover, it is necessary to follow the rules:

  Numbering of formulae. It is necessary to use continuous numbering of formulae, theorems, lemmas, derived relations and derivations. It is desirable to mark all the formulae (the number is given in the right-hand margin of the basic text and enclosed in round brackets), but it is acceptable to mark only those mentioned in the text. Interpretation of symbols used in formulae is given in order of their use in formulae. The use of letters of Cyrillic alphabet in formulae is not recommended.

  Figures. It is recommended to use black and white figures with resolution of 300—600 dpi (eps format). Figures are given in addition to the article in the form of separate files (use the techniques of lossless data compression) as it will economize the time of prepress.

  Diagrams. Above the diagram “Diagram” should be written (right-margin aligning). The diagram should be included without paragraph indentation. All diagrams in the text should have reference.

  The number of figures and diagrams is up to 8.

• Reference list starts with a keyword «References», typed as first level heading without a number. Elements of reference list are typed by 11 pt. CMU Serif font with justified alignment and are numbered in Arabic numerals, for example «1.». Sources in the reference list can be sorted in alphabetical order (preferred) or by the order of appearance of links in the text. Formatting of the reference should comply with GOST 7.1-2003 (full text in PDF, Russian). To separate parts of bibliographic reference long dash «—» is used, and to specify a range of dates or pages short dash is used «–». Examples:

• Recommendations for submission annotations of the articles

  The abstract by the authors (annotation) is a brief resume of the full article. It can be published separately from basic text and hence should be clear without reference to the original article.

  The recommended size of annotation is about 120—250 words.

  The annotation should include the following aspects of the content of the article:

  • subject, topic and object of the article;
  • methods or methodology of the work;
  • results of the work;
  • sphere of application of the results of work;
  • conclusion.

  The annotation should contain the scientific content of the article, information about the problem under solution, methods of solution, results and conclusion. It shouldn’t have figures, formulae, bibliography and sources of financing as well as references. Diagrams, formulae, charts, figures, schemes are not accepted.

  The text of annotations should use the syntax of scientific and technical documents, complex grammatical structures are unacceptable.

  The author should present annotation in English as well. Terminology in the English version should be peculiar to foreign technical documentation. It is advisable to omit terminology which is the equivalent of the Russian terms. It is necessary to maintain the unity of terminology within annotation.

• Prepublication review

  Prepublication review of the articles (hereinafter referred to as articles), submitted for publication by the authors in periodical «Bulletin of SUSU, Series „Mathematical Modelling, Programming and Computer Software“», is done in accordance with the following rules.

  Document flow in the process of prepublication review.

  1. 1. The articles submitted in accordance with the requirements are sent for prepublication review to publish them in «Bulletin of SUSU, Series "Mathematical Modelling, Programming and Computer Software"». (Recent version of requirements is dated of September 13, 2011).
  2. The article is sent for prepublication review to the specialist in the corresponding sphere (hereinafter referred to as reviewer), who has the degree of Doctor of Science. A member of the editorial board can not be a reviewer.
  3. The period for prepublication review is up to one month starting from the moment of submission of the article.
  4. Within 2 weeks from the moment of getting a review the editorial board considers the review and makes a reasoned decision on the necessity to make some correction work of the article or possibility/impossibility to publish the article.
  5. The reasoned decision of the editorial board is given to the author within a week of it being made.

  Form and the content of review.

  1. The review is issued as a document of A4 format, font 14, single spaced with the margins of 2 cm.
  2. The review has a title of the following type: Review of the article (the title of the article) by (the name of the author).
  3. The text of the review includes:
     — the relevance of the problems;
     — novelty and value of the given methods of solution;
     — the level of novelty of scientific results;
     — practical relevance of the results;
     — style of presentation and literacy;
     — structure of the article.
  4. The review finishes with a final summary of strengths and weaknesses of the article.
  5. The review makes a conclusion about:
     — the possibility (practicality) to publishing the article in the periodical;
     — the possibility of publishing the article after error correction;
     — the impossibility (impracticality) to publish the article.
  6. The signature and full name of the reviewer with his degree and position should follow the text of the review.
