Focus and Scope

General Information

«Bulletin of the South Ural State University», series «Mathematics. Mechanics. Physics» is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes articles, reviews, and brief communications on the topical issues of mathematics, mechanics, and physics of the Russian and foreign scientists, members of SUSU, other universities, and scientific and research organizations of Russia on a gratuitous basis.  

Full version of the article is published in the Internet on the official website of the Scientific Electronic Library (eLIBRARY.RU), in the section «Bulletin of the South Ural State University» on the official SUSU website.

The series was founded in 2009 and was the continuation of the series «Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry» which has been being published since 2001.

The subscription index of the Bulletin through the union catalogue «Russian Press» is 29211, through the Internet catalogue of the «Kniga-Servis» agency - Е29211.

The publication frequency of the series is 4 issues a year. 

The capacity is 70—80 pages, size А4.

The founder of the series is the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education South Ural State University.

By the decision of the General Committee of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation as of February 19, 2010 the issue of the series No.6/6 was registered in the «Catalogue of the Leading Peer-Reviewed Journals Where the Chief Scientific Results of the Theses in Candidacy for a Degree Should Be Published» on the following specialties and corresponding branches of science: 01.01.01 – Real, complex and functional analysis (physical and mathematical Sciences), 01.01.02 – Differential equations, dynamic systems and optimal control (physical and mathematical Sciences), 01.01.07 – Computational mathematics (physical and mathematical Sciences), 01.01.09 – Discrete mathematics and mathematical cybernetics (physical and mathematical Sciences), 01.02.05 – Fluid, gas and plasma mechanics (physical and mathematical science), 01.04.05 – Optics (physics and mathematics), 01.04.07 – Condensed matter physics (physical and mathematical sciences).

By the decision of the General Committee of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the journal was included in “Catalogue of the Leading Peer-Reviewed Journals included in international abstract databases and citation systems and included in the List of Leading Peer-Reviewed Journals in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the competition of scientists should be published Doctorate and Candidate of Science degrees” in the following groups of specialties: 01.01.00 - Mathematics, 01.02.00 - Mechanics, 01.04.00 - Physics, 05.13.00 - Computer Science, Computing injection equipment and management

The journal is represented:

1) in the Scientific Electronic Library (eLIBRARY.RU);

2) in the specialized database «Russian List of Journals Indexed»;

The information on the publications is annually placed in the international reference system on periodical and serial publications «Ulricht's Periodicals Directory».

The series is registered in the International Center ISSN, ISSN number is 2075-809Х (Print).

The main objective of the series «Mathematics. Mechanics. Physics» is the publication of the full results of the scientific researches in the field of mathematics, mechanics, and physics, as well as their application in the natural, technical, and economic sciences, as considered by the editorial board and editorial team.

The above mentioned results can be represented in the form of overview articles, full publications, and short messages (for young scientists, master degree students and post graduate students).

The priority right for publication belongs to:

1)      the post graduate students and PhD students and their results of scientific researches;

2)      the members of SUSU and their results of scientific researches with the support of the scientific funds of the Russian Federation or the Government of the Russian Federation. 

Peer Review Process

Article reviewing (SUSU Bulletin, series “Mathematics. Mechanics. Physics”) is done in accordance with the following rules:

А. Document control in the process of reviewing

  1. The editorial board accepts only the articles written in compliance with the requirements of publication arrangement. The non-compliance with the requirements is possible only when the article is prepared by the order of the editorial office.
  2. The article is directed to the member of the editorial team with PhD (reviewer) by e-mail for the reviewing. Both the members of the editorial team and the authors of the article could be the reviewers.
  3. The reviewing period is 1 month. After the process of reviewing the article is forwarded to the editorial board by e-mail. The document turnover between the editorial team and the reviewer normally takes no more than 2 months from the day when the reviewer gets the article.
  4. The author of the article gets the copy of the review; reviewer’s signature is cut off (reviewer’s first and last names are not announced to the author). The copy of the review is sent to the author by regular or electronic mail.
  5. If the reviewer has made a decision to publish the article after the improvements and alterations the article is sent back to the authors. After the improvements and alterations have been made and the article is back in the editorial office it is forwarded to the reviewer again. The reviewer informs the editorial team on his or her decision. If the author ignores the recommendations of the reviewer the article will not be published. Authors can also motivate their refusal in a written form. In this case the letter of motivated refusal is sent to the reviewer who can agree or disagree with the authors. If the reviewer doesn’t agree with the authors the article is not published and the authors get the official letter on the unavailability of article’s publication.

Publication ethics of a journal

Publication policy of the journal is based on traditional ethical principles of the Russian scientific periodicals and is built in terms of ethical norms of editors and publishers work stated in Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers, developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). In the course of publishing editorial board of the journal is led by international rules for copyright protection, statutory regulations of the Russian Federation as well as international standards of publishing. The editorial board recommends the authors to follow the rules and examples of the documents when submitting articles.

  1. The article should be in printed or electronic version in Russian or English languages. The electronic version should be identical to the printed one. The printed version should have the signatures of all the authors.
  1. The article submitted to the periodical should present a complete scientific research and include new scientific results.
  1. It is forbidden to publish the articles previously published or sent for publication to other periodicals. The author is responsible for the content of the article. The editorial board is entitled to withdraw a published article if there is an evidence of the fact that within publication the rights and general accepted rules of scientific ethics are infringed. The editorial board must inform the author of withdrawal.
  1. Printed version is followed by:
    — the act of expert examination about the possibility of publication in public media;
    — non-exclusive license agreement of granting the right to use the article;
    — agreement for processing of personal data.
    The license agreement is to be compiled in 2 copies for the co-authors. The agreement for processing of personal data is to be in one copy. Signing the license agreement the author guarantees the fact that the article is the original version written by the author. He also ensures the granted rights do not infringe the rights of other people or companies.
  1. Chief Editor conducts the policy of prevention and control of publishing conflicts.
  1. The printed version is to be followed by the information about the author who wrote the article and cooperates with the editorial board in the process of submission the article for publishing, contact telephone and e-mail for feedback.
  1. The editorial board is not responsible for artistic, literary or any other types of correction of the articles.
  1. The decision on acceptance of the article for publication is made by the editorial board on the basis of the expert review of the same or related field of study. Final date of acceptance of the article for publication is the date of acceptance of the article with necessary corrections in accordance with the comments of a reviewer. If the authors ignore the comments of the reviewer to make necessary error corrections of the article, the article will not be published. The authors can give reasons for refusal to follow recommendations of the reviewer in the written form. In case of disagreement of the reviewer with the authors the article is not published, the authors are notified about it by the official letter with grounds for refusal to publish the article in the present form. Publication ethics provides fair and objective reviewing process free of business interest and market needs.
  1. The editorial board has the right not to accept articles that are submitted with deviations from the rules.
  1. Articles which are not accepted for publication as well as accompanying documents are not returned.
  1. Submission of an article to the editor of the periodical "Bulletin of the SUSU" signifies the agreement of the authors to accept the rules and place full a version of the article to the Internet on the Internet on the official web-site of Scientific on-line library eLIBRARY.RU, and in the section of South Ural State University «Bulletin of the SUSU» for free access as well as to use personal data in public media.
