Abstract
The study considers the nonlinear dielectric response of a nematic liquid crystal (NLC). Odd harmonics are found in the dielectric response in the low-frequency region of the spectrum from 0.5 mHz to 600 Hz. The transporting of impurity ions causes two relaxation effects: space charge polarization and the formation of electric double layers.
