Abstract

The paper discusses the main principles of the methodology for studying the seismic impact of explosions at test sites, as well as the application of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (sph) method for investigating the seismic impact of explosions in both monolithic and fractured rock masses. It presents the results of the numerical studies aimed at assessing the influence of blasting parameters on seismic impact. Based on field tests and numerical simulations using the sph method, we analyzed the dependence of the ground displacement vector velocity on the detonation velocity for various types of rock masses, including monolithic and fractured ones. This dependence exhibits a polynomial character, indicating a complex and nonlinear nature of the process. This pattern suggests the possible existence of extremes – zones of maximum or minimum impact – which is important to take into account when forecasting and optimizing blasting parameters.
