Abstract

The results of laboratory studies of physicochemical and elemental composition of bottom sediments were presented. The particulate composition of the sediments was analyzed. It has been noted that two processes take place during the sedimentation: precipitation and leaching. The predominance of a particular process depends on the contact time of bottom sediments with water: the initial stage of sedimentation is characterized by predominance of precipitation processes, increasing the contact time helps leaching and increasing the concentration of dissolved elements of heavy metals as a consequence.
