THEORETICAL RATIONALE OF THE SPEED MODE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR NON-STOP PASSAGE AT A SIGNAL-CONTROLLED CROSSING

The organization of a comfortable urban environment largely depends on the quality of passenger services for the population, in particular, public transport. Today, there is a problem related to the reduction of congestion situations for public transport at signal-controlled crossings. A solution to this problem is proposed by organizing the non-stop passage of public transport at a signal-controlled crossing. In the course of the study it has been found that the average speed of movement of public transport from a stopping point to a stop line, for a given travel time and taking into account the acceleration, is one of the necessary conditions for non-stop passage at a signal-controlled crossing. The dependences of the speed of movement of public vehicles from the stopping point to the stop line at different times of movement, taking into account the acceleration and the duration of the red signal of the traffic light, has shown that the latter has a greater effect on the average speed. It has been determined that the movement of public transport from a stopping point, even at low average speeds, makes it possible to cover the distance to the far-off conflict point by the time the green signal of a traffic light ends, what ensures road safety and non-stop passage at a signal-controlled crossing.
