Abstract
This article studies the economic vulnerability of Russian regions and develops proposals to reduce the influence of negative factors. The theoretical aspects of economic vulnerability at the regional level are considered, the main characteristics are given and approaches to its assessment are explored, taking into account the factors leading to changes in its state. Based on approaches to assessing the economic vulnerability of regions, a methodology is proposed, supplemented by indicators of regional competitiveness, which allows a more comprehensive assessment of regional economic vulnerability. The applicability of the methodology for assessing the level of economic vulnerability of regions has been substantiated. The scientific novelty of the research results lies in the development of a comprehensive system of indicators and an algorithm for assessing the level of economic vulnerability. This can serve as the basis for the further study of this issue and the formation of a methodological basis for its assessment at the regional level. The article uses methods of comparative analysis, synthesis, and statistical evaluation techniques.
