RISK ASSESSMENT OF INNOVATIVE PROJECTS

Abstract

The article deals with the problems of risk assessment of innovative projects in the information area. Over the past decade a new product has been developed, that is a sale of information products through the information area. It allowed creating innovative projects at minimal cost within the time and making relatively smaller investment. Today the usual physical channels undergo drastic changes or disappear as physical products are transformed into information ones. Over the past few years, the information area from the leisure and communication category is gradually transformed into a rapidly growing market. Recently relatively small Russian innovative projects attracted a few hundreds of millions of dollars investment. It should be noted that the dynamics of growth of the IT market is increased
by 40 % per year. Therefore, the information zone gradually transforms into an independent branch of the national economy. The authors have considered the problem of development and scaling of innovative projects in Russia, trends of assessment and minimization of risks of innovative projects in the information area. The authors gave a description of an innovation project in the information area, suggested methods of risk assessment. Different methods of analysis are used at different stages of the innovative project’s readiness. Methods of investment analysis are used at the stage of making a business plan: preliminary calculation (break-even analysis, sensitivity analysis), data verification. Mathematical and statistical methods are applied at later stages when the information on the project is sufficiently detailed.
