The scientific article examines the current situation in the field of soil compaction. Two types of compaction are distinguished: surface and deep. Road construction machinery and equipment for each type of soil compaction are considered. The first type includes road rollers, dirt rollers and a soil compaction device, which have the main advantages and relative disadvantages. The relative disadvantages of these structures are the low compaction depth, compression compression of air in the soil mass and high energy consumption of basic machines. The second type of compaction includes the working body of earthmoving machines, an assembly for deep tamping of soil, spiral projectiles, a screw head for moving soil for installing piles, a device for drilling and compacting soil, a device for rotating penetration and a cone roller. Each equipment for deep soil compaction has been reviewed and analyzed in detail. The positive aspects of technical solutions and relative disadvantages have been identified, which include, mainly, the large contact area of the working bodies with the compacted soil, the large axial force of the base machine when the working bodies are embedded in the soil, swinging, compressive compression of air in the soil mass, the predominance of sliding friction over rolling friction, high energy consumption when the workers are embedded organs in the ground. Devices with a predominance of rolling friction are taken as an analogue, since in this case the energy consumption of the basic machines is minimal due to the rolling of the working bodies on the ground surface. The reduction of axial force in some analogues is solved by using screw tips on the working bodies. The identified shortcomings will be taken into account when designing a new device for deep soil compaction.Downloads
