Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the forms, techniques and means of psychological rep resentation in A. Aleksin’s novella “The Detachment keeps Pace” (1952), which is almost un known to the modern reader because it is an early, student’s work of the future famous children’s writer. Accordingly, the psychology that is being formed in her, which will manifest itself in such mature Aleksin’s novels as “Mad Evdokia”, requires study and constitutes the relevance of the research. The novelty of the work is due to the lack of special studies in modern literary criticism that analyze the psychologism in the writer’s early prose.

As a result of the literary analysis of the story, the predominant use of an indirect form of psychologism and the presence of such methods of psychological representation as psycholog ical analysis and introspection are proved. The conducted research expands the understanding of the forms, techniques and means of psychological representation characteristic of A. Aleksin’s short prose of the 1950s, when it was just forming such a property of the depicted world as psy chologism. The results of the analysis can be useful to teachers of philology in the process of studying Aleksin’s work in universities, as well as in teaching students working on topics re lated to psychology in literature, especially in the context of the work of this author. In addition, the research materials can be used by specialists involved in educational work in schools.
