CHILDREN AND CHILDHOOD IN PAINTING OF A. A. PLASTOV

The article is devoted to the theme of childhood in painting of A. Plastov. This
theme is one of the most important line in his work. It determined a significant
part of subjects of his genre paintings and portraits. The author analyzes the compositional
structures of paintings of second half of the 1940s — 1960s, reveals the
features of work of Plastov with color and light. Attention is drawn to existence
of stable themes and subjects of his paintings for three decades. Also the author
stresses the connection of intentions of the artist with the socio-historical situation
in society.
