The article analyzes processes of modernization after the construction of railways in the South
Ural in the end of XIX – beginning of XX centuries and its consequences. Modernization process in many respects changed the social relations in Yuzhnouralsk the region, solved strategic, economic, social and cultural problems. Society of modern type, with higher level of professional skills, in comparison with the traditional is gradually formed.
