In the article 5 books-guide books are analysed on Sevastopol, published in 60—80th ХХ of century
in the USSR. An author grounds a thesis that character of Sevastopol thatwas formed in the eyes of
soviet tourists, due to editionssuch, carried dynamic, ideological and politically oriented character. This
was character of city hero. Basic attention oftourists was brought over to the monuments related to the
defensive of Sevastopol in 1854—-1855 and Great Patriotic war. The last soviet books-guide-books on
Sevastopol differed in plenty of photos, laconic text constructions, more-difficul underlying structure
