Abstract

The article examines the international legal foundations of the victim's right to an effective investigation, the possibility of exercising the victim's right to an effective investigation under the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, as well as the mechanism for implementing the victim's right to an effective investigation in the decisions of the Constitutional Court of
the Russian Federation. The question of the procedural status of the victim and the moment of his
acquisition as a starting point for the protection of his rights is investigated. Attention is drawn to the
specifics of appealing actions and decisions of officials conducting criminal prosecution to victims
of a crime in accordance with art. 125 The Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation as
the most effective mechanism for protecting the rights of the victim in criminal proceedings
