Abstract

The article analyzes the impact of digital technologies on law. The multidimensional
nature of such an impact is noted, which is the cause of both positive and negative features of the
functioning of law in modern digital reality. The scientific significance of this topic is due to the need
for further doctrinal understanding of issues related to the development of law in the information society, and the lack of relevant research. Special emphasis is placed on the current state of the rule of
law in the digital reality. The author separately notes the importance of this principle for creating a
positive perception of law by civil society and improving law as an instrument of social regulation.
The purpose of this article is to determine the role played by modern digital technologies in the development of the rule of law principle. It is argued that perceptions of law and the assessment of its
effectiveness increasingly depend on how quickly it adapts to the new multimedia era. The issue of
the impact of digital technologies on the rule of law is considered through the analysis of its substantive elements: accountability, transparency and protection of human rights.

The conclusions made by the author can be taken into account in the further theoretical analysis of the process of modernization of law in the conditions of a new technological reality that is
changing all important spheres of society, and in the proposal of measures aimed at improving the
effectiveness of the human rights protection system and improving the current legislation.
