Abstract

The article deals with the problems faced by judges in the application of compulsory
medical measures in criminal cases. The author focuses on mistakes made by the courts in
applying the measures of medical nature. This article examines the judicial legal positions
formed by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. These positions clarify the issues
on the appointment, renewal, modification, and termination of the application of compulsory
measures of medical nature. The author comes to the conclusion that legal positions
of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation have a positive impact on the unified application
of the criminal procedure law in cases of this category.
