SELF-EMPLOYMENT IN KAZAKHSTAN AS ECONOMIC BASIS OF CIVIL SOCIETY

Abstract

The article is concerned with the study of the institute of self-employed people in the
Republic of Kazakhstan as the economic component of civil society. Some specific features
of the category of self-employed people are highlighted. The legal status of selfemployed
people is studied in detail. The criteria of differentiation of self-employed
people are found out. The analysis of statistical data of the Committee of Statistics of the
Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out. The data gives
an idea of the image of self-employed population by employment status and regions of
Kazakhstan, as well as ILO status and level of education. The characteristic of key points
of the program aimed at the solution to the issues of employment – "Employment Roadmap-
2020" is given. The study of the legal status of self-employed individuals, classification
and types, statistical data, as well as government self-employment support programs
allows us to draw some conclusions and suggestions.
