ISSUES RELATED TO DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN EXAMINATION PROCEDURES TO FORENSIC EXPERTISE OF MATERIALS, SUBSTANCES AND PRODUCTS FORENSICS (FEMSP)

The article deals with the problem of uncertainty of designating different categories of
evaluation procedures to such kinds of examinations, as forensic expertise of materials, substances
and products (FEMSP). The author referring to the variety of sources points at the
striking discrepancy in the solutions of this problem. The uncertainty in terminology and the
absence of a common approach to the designation of the different sorts of expertise lead to discrepancies
and inconsistencies during the investigation and hearing of cases in courts, both
administrative and criminal.
The article suggests coming to a common agreement to set the list of evaluation procedures
which fall within the concept of FEMSP. Also there is a need for the unified terminology
in the titles of examinations to bring decisions and definitions on the appointment of examinations,
as well as expert conclusions themselves to a single system
