Abstract

The article deals with the procedural status and procedural independence of the investigator
at the present stage, the very concept of the investigator is given, his rights and
duties are explained. Also, the reform of the investigative apparatus is considered, during
which the supervisory powers of the prosecutor were transferred to the head of the investigative
department, so the legislator could not ensure the procedural independence of the
investigator. The necessity of extending the procedural independence of the investigator.
