The author analyzes legal regulation of protection of personal data of persons with
disabilities and persons affected by technogenic accidents and catastrophes. The relevance
of the study stems from the fact that the active development of the information field has a
serious influence on all the processes occurring in the life of the state, including in the
field of social protection and social security. Persons with disabilities and victims of industrial
accidents and disasters are recognized as special subjects in need of protection of their
rights and freedoms, including the protection of personal data. On the basis of the conducted
analysis the author identifies the problems of legal regulation and proposes solutions.
