Abstract

The article justifies the relevance of anti-icing overhead power transmission lines protection and analyzes the methods of wire deicing, both currently in use and being developed or tested. The article also suggests a general technique that allows establishing the optimal parameters of thermoelectric fibers being a part of a general task of overhead power transmission line optimization. The optimization results shall form the basis for the requirements set for thermo-electrical fibers when solving the problem of overhead power line anti-icing protection. The described technique is planned to be used in the course of further research on the justification and development of the overhead transmission line anti-icing protection with thermo-electric fibers.
