Procedure for reviewing papers

Review of the articles sent by the authors for publication in Bulletin of South Ural State University, Series “Food and Biotechnology” is performed in accordance with the following rules.

Document management within reviewing.

  1. The articles submitted according to the requirements for publication in “Bulletin of SUSU, series “Food and Biotechnology” are to be reviewed.
  2. The article is directed to an expert of the corresponding field for reviewing (herein after referred to as Reviewer) with a Degree of Doctor of Science. A member of Editorial Board can’t be a Reviewer.
  3. Reviewing period doesn’t exceed 1 month from the date of submission of the article to a Reviewer.
  4. Within 2 weeks from accepting the review the Editorial Board considers comments and makes reasonable decision of the necessity to modify (rewrite) the article and/or the possibility (impossibility) to publish the article.
  5. Within a week after acceptance the author is informed about reasonable decision made by the Editorial Board.

Format and content of the review.

  1. The review should be of A4 document format, font and line interval are determined by the Reviewer independently, page margins are 2 cm.
  2. The review should have a Title: «Article Review <Author> <Title>».
  3. In the review the Reviewer should briefly mark:
    — topicality of the problems;
    — originality and sufficiency of solution methods given;
    — academic novelty of the results;
    — practical importance of the results;
    — style and literacy of the content;
    — structure of the article.
  4. The review is followed by the final list of basic advantages and disadvantages of the article.
  5. Reviewer makes the conclusion of:
    — possibility (necessity) to publish the article in the journal;
    — possibility to publish the article after modification and correction;
    — impossibility (unviability) to publish the article.
  6. In the end of the text of review there is a signature and print full name of the Reviewer, degree and title.
