Abstract

Тhe present article aims at discussing the background of George Brassens creative
work from the standpoint of his own poetic associations. Which of the predecessors and fellow writers are mentioned by the poet directly and indirectly, in what context? The study of all known and published Brassens’ songs has allowed us to find out more than a dozen names in his poetic texts. They are discussed in the historical background, on the one hand, and in the context of the Brassens’ songs, on the other.
