This article is devoted to the picture of the world in general and to the language picture in particular. The picture of the world, which changed in the course of development of human society is a complex concept, it is directly connected with the language picture of the world. Every people has its own language picture of the world. Languages have more profound concepts, they are not just the attributes, reflecting the universal consciousness. They correspond to the various pictures of the world, this is consistent with the idea of W. von Humboldt and hypothesis of the Sepir–Whorf.
