ANTONYMY AS AN OBJECT OF THEORETICAL RESEARCH

In this paper the author assumes the essential aspect of historiography to consider the
historical substantive aspect of the problem. The author undertakes an attempt to figure
out what issues have ever been studied, how to treat them in terms of their content, what
aspects remain out of researches’ view and what assessments and conclusions researchers
have made, etc. The attempt to analyze the accumulated knowledge on the phenomenon of
«antonymy» is undertaken with the help of linguistic approach.
