Keywords:
modality, modal interjective phraseological unit, estimation, emotiveness, modal words, interjections, parentheses.Abstract
The article deals with the problem of identifying and analyzing the essential properties
of modal interjective phraseological units constituting a large semantic-grammatical
union, or a class of phraseological units correlative in its properties with modal words and
interjections in morphology, and with parentheses in syntax. The object of the present research
comprises units whose general categorical meaning is the expression of the speaker’s
attitude towards reality, the attitude being subjective, modal, emotional, and evaluative.
The problem of specific structural, semantic and functional properties of modal interjective
phraseological units is of great importance as it helps to determine their place
among the other semantic-grammatical classes of phraseological units and lexemes that
have modal, emotional, and evaluative meanings.
