VERBALIZATION OF THE IMAGE OF THE SUN IN EUROPEAN AND ASIAN LINGUOCULTURES (BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF MODERN SONG DISCOURSE)

Abstract

In the present article ethnic and cultural peculiarities of the images of language consciousness are
considered. The texts of songs in Arabic, Turkish, Russian, French, English with the image of the sun
expressed in key lexical items are chosen as the material for analysis. The purpose of the article is to
compare the image of the sun in European and Asian linguocultures based on the analysis of song texts
with the consideration of national and mental characteristics. The methods used in this article are the
following: the method of collecting and analysis of information, the method of observation and description,
the method of comparative analysis, the contextual method, the method of interpretation. The analysis
of the texts allows the author to conclude that European and Asian peoples have similarities and
differences in verbalization of the image of the sun as national and mental peculiarities of European and
Asian linguocultures are reflected in this image. In European and Asian linguocultures the image of the
sun has the meaning of love and prosperous life. In the texts of Arabic and Turkish songs the image of
the sun is connected with unhappy love as well. The results of the research can be used in teaching lexicology,
comparative linguistics, theory of communication, socio- and psycholinguistics.
