Abstract

The dependence of both reading trends and approaches to the study of reading skills upon the development of society is reviewed. The structural and content analysis of the notion «readers’ competency» is represented. The model of readers’ competency of a digital user as a result of educational process in the context of contemporary social changes is constructed.
