Development of Subjectivity as the Main Component of Human Potential in Tertiary Education

Abstract

The article examines the theoretical prerequisites for solving a difficult task for the education system – the development of students' subjectivity as the main component of human potential. The quality of its solution will depend not only on the increasing the critical mass of self-governing students capable of further effective self-realization in their professional activities, but also on ensuring significant socio-economic and cultural transformations, and increasing staff for the knowledge economy. The development and realization of each person's talents and potential in various spheres of life is a strategic national goal of the Russian Federation, as well as the main factor in ensuring the country's sustainable development. The higher education system plays a key role in achieving such high results. The article aims to analyze the theoretical ideas for the development of subjectivity in the works of domestic and foreign researchers and to assess the possibilities of their application for the development of the personal potential of students in higher education. To achieve this goal, theoretical methods were used: analysis of documents, pedagogical literature and electronic sources; comparison, synthesis, generalization, and inductive-deductive method. The results obtained can be used as guidelines for transformations in the practice of higher educa-tion. The guidelines include improving the quality of communication and enriching the repertoire of joint activities in student and teaching communities; focusing on the development of reflective consciousness and a culture of choice; pedagogical support on the path of self-determination and further self-realization of one's own activity in a socially acceptable and personally meaningful way.
