The problem of improving cognitive independence and cognitive activity of a military university cadet is driven by a number of factors, namely, the increasing requirements for the training of a future officer, the enhancement of his personal qualities, the growth of his cognitive interest in studying regulatory rules, the understanding that rules’ memorizing is crucial for improving his professional skills. Despite the relevance of the problem, it remains underdeveloped in the context of the professional training of a future officer. The lack of didactic strategies and methodological recommendations for solving the aforementioned prob-lem in mastering professional disciplines necessitated the choice of the research subject. The study aims to determine the theoretical and methodological foundations and prerequisites for improving the cognitive in-dependence and cognitive activity of military university cadets in mastering core disciplines. The author revealed the methodological and professional-pedagogical foundations for improving the cognitive activity and cognitive independence of military university cadets using the example of the core discipline “Combined Arms Regulations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” (CAR AF RF). To achieve the goal, a model and pedagogical conditions for its implementation were developed. The model was structured in accordance with the identified approaches (prognostic-methodological, cognitive-activity, procedural-stimulating), types of cognitive activity, actions, and operations for their implementation. The model was implemented based on a set of pedagogical conditions (“support”, “development”, “strengthening”), which revealed the functions of the individual educational trajectory of students. Verification of the success of the identified pedagogical conditions during the implementation of the developed model was carried out step by step based on a specially developed technology. The technology was based on the ideas of the educator I.P. Podlasy about testing multi-level skills using rates of achievement (mastery, progress, growth).Downloads
