Abstract

The article highlights the key role of higher education in the formation of students' cultural capital from the perspective of the axiologization of their civic position. The relevance of the study is due to the need to improve the effectiveness of educational work in universities aimed at forming responsible and conscious citizens. The article aims to explore the significance of a university's corporate culture in shaping the civic values and norms of behavior among students through various methodological approaches. To achieve this goal, the authors use the methods of analyzing psychological and pedagogical literature to identify ways to transmit civic values and norms to students through the use of the university's corporate culture's educational potential. A comprehensive approach was used, including a well-thought-out system of cultural events and civic initiatives based on the foundation of axiology. This research paper attempts to analyze the role of a university's corporate culture as a mechanism for the assimilation and formation of social values, combined with the self-realization activities of students. The paper focuses on identifying specific ways and methods of value transmission and evaluating their effectiveness in today's context. It examines mentorship as an important channel for the transmission of civic values and norms, explores the process of fostering civic self-determination among students, and highlights the significance of implementing civic initiatives through social design. The paper highlights the importance of a university's corporate culture as a framework for shaping students' perceptions of citizenship, responsibility, and social justice. The student's affiliation with a university is considered as one of the elements of students’ civic identity. The proposed forms, methods, and types of educational work are aimed at intensifying the use of the educational potential of the university's corporate culture, particularly through the development of student self-government, the involvement of students in socially useful activities, the organization of platforms for discussing current social issues, and the creation of an atmosphere of tolerance and respect for different cultures and worldviews. The results of the study can be used in the practical activities of universities, as well as in the process of training pedagogical personnel.
