Developmental Learning in Fundamentalization of Content of Mathematical Training for Humanities Students in Universities

The fusion of mathematics and the humanities is deepening into the digital era. This process has become the basis for the formation of computer and then digital linguistics, history, philosophy, psychology, sociology, jurisprudence, painting, music and other liberal arts. As a result of an avalanche-like digitalization of sciences in the humanitarian sphere the term “digital humanities” was coined. Modern mathematics has become the basis for the fundamentalization of the mathematical training of humanities students in universities as it plays an important role in overcoming the chaotic digital transformation of humanities education. The developmental training is a leading approach in teaching humanities students modelling and algorithmization using a computer, which has been insufficiently studied. The article explores the role of the developmental learning in the fundamentalization of the content of mathematical training of humanities students in universities based on their training in modeling and algorithmization using a computer. The significance of the language of structures and schemes dominant in discrete mathematics was substantiated for teaching the correct use of modern information technologies and for forming a new digital culture in the future professional activities of humanities students. The principles of developmental learning in bringing together the humanities and education within the content of mathematical training were substantively characterized.Published
