Electric Motor Import Substitution

Abstract


The paper provides assessment of the main electrical equipment markets and capabilities of the domestic industry for import substitution (according to equipment groups). It considers specific examples of import substitution in the Russian Federation and abroad (with regard to industries and countries). The issues of production and implementation of import-substituting solutions are studied with further proposals for their solving. Import substitution in Russia appears to face some difficulties, although upward trends in this relation are available.
