Peer Review Process

Reviewing article manuscripts (hereinafter − articles) sent by authors for publication in the series "Social Sciences and the Humanities" of the SUSU Bulletin Scientific Journal is carried out in accordance with the following rules.

Document flow in the review process.

Articles prepared in accordance with the formatting requirements for publication in the series "Social Sciences and the Humanities" of the SUSU Bulletin Scientific Journal are sent for review.

The article is sent for reviewing to a specialist who is a recognized expert on the subject of the reviewed materials (hereinafter referred to as the reviewer), has a higher doctorate degree and publications on the subject of the reviewed article during the last 3 years. A member of the editorial staff of the Journal cannot act as a reviewer.

The review period is no longer than one month from the date of receipt of the work by the reviewer.

Within a period of not more than two weeks from the moment of receiving the reviewer's report, the editorial staff considers it and makes an informed decision on the need to revise the article and (or) the possibility (impossibility) of publishing the work.

The editorial staff informs the authors of the article of their well-founded decision within a week after it was made.

EDITION INFORMATION

The Journals' founder is South Ural State University.

The series "Social Sciences and the Humanities" was founded in 2001.The subscription index of the series "Social Sciences and the Humanities" of the SUSU Bulletin Scientific Journal in the Russian Press union catalogue is 29076. Frequency is 2 issues per year.

Bulletin registration certificate number is ФС77-26455. The certificate was issued on December 13, 2006 by the Russian Federal Surveillance Service for Compliance with the Law in Mass Communications and Cultural Heritage Protection.

The edition is registered in the ISSN International Centre, ISSN number is 1990-8466.

By the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 6/6 dated February 19, 2010, the Journal was included in the "List of Leading Peer-reviewed Scientific Journals and Editions, in which the Main Scientific Results of Dissertations for the Degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences Should Be Published".

The Journal is included in the Abstract Journal and VINITI Databases. Information about published articles is regularly submitted in the prescribed form to the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).

Information about the Journal's publications is annually placed in Ulricht's Periodicals Directory, the international reference systems for periodicals and continuing editions.

JOURNAL EDITORIAL ETHICS

The editorial policy of the Journal is based on the traditional ethical principles of Russian scientific periodicals and is built taking into account the requirements of Russian and international associations and organizations, including the principles and rules of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), ORI (the Office of Research Integrity), CSE (Council of Science Editors), EASE (European Association of Science Editors), guidelines of ASEP (Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers) and requirements of the HAC (Higher Attestation Commission).

Publication in the SUSU Bulletin, series "Social Sciences and the Humanities" is free of charge.

The authors are kindly requested to adhere to the guidelines below and the attached samples of accompanying documents:

  • article can be written in Russian and English;
  • article should be in compliance with the requirements applied to scientific journals, correspond to one of the Bulletin's sections (or thematic headings) and the nomenclature of specialties of science workers;
  • content proposed by the author for publication in the Bulletin should be original, not published earlier, correspond to the context of modern scientific literature and contain an obvious element of creating new knowledge;
  • submission of an article to the Bulletin assumes that all co-authors agree with the publication of the current version of the article;
  • submitted materials are checked by the editorial staff of the Bulletin using the Antiplagiat system. In case of detection of numerous borrowings, the editors act in accordance with the COPE rules: the permissible originality of the manuscript is from 70%, the permissible level of borrowings is up to 10%;
  • self-citation cannot exceed 10%;
  • article should be formatted in accordance with the requirements of the Bulletin, the editorial staff reserves the right to reject articles that do not meet the established requirements or the remit of the Journal;
  • editorial staff is authorized to send articles for additional reviewing;
  • if the article is rejected, the editorial staff sends a reasoned refusal to the author;
  • editorial staff does not enter into discussions with the authors of rejected materials;
  • publishing decision is made by the editorial staff based on the review of a specialist in this or a related field. Editorial ethics provides for a fair and objective review process, independent of commercial interests and market needs;
  • manuscripts not accepted for publication and accompanying documents are not returned;
  • by signing a license agreement, the author guarantees that the article is the original work of the author. The author guarantees that the provided rights do not violate the rights of other persons or organizations;
  • submission of an article to the editorial office of the Journal means the consent of the authors with the stated rules and consent to post the full version of the article on the Internet on the official website of the eLIBRARY.RU Scientific Electronic Library, on the website of the SUSU Bulletin Scientific Journal in free access, as well as using personal data in the open press.
