Economic skills and knowledge of students: results of the sociological study Summary
Abstract
The article presents the results of a representative empirical research of 749 students of Ekaterinburg. Author describes the data on the awareness about rights of customer and employee. In the research is characterized the ability to handle money, choose the food and non-food products, as well as to look for job. The percentage of respondents who possess these skills and knowledge varies mostly in the range of 50—65%.
It was found an impact of three main factors on the subject of study: parents’ financial position, academic performance at the University and economic specialization.
The presented data are based on cluster analysis. Three typological groups were allocated: students, oriented on economic knowledge, oriented on practice and passive students.
