The social benefits of the consumer society, and the architectural and artistic means of expression in a minimalist architecture

Abstract


The subject of research is the architectural and artistic means of expression of social benefits of
the consumer society in minimalist architecture. Artistic features of the minimalist architecture are
considered as means of expression of socially important amenities of the consumer society, providing
a high quality of life of a modern man, and showing his well-being.
The article uses a systematic approach and the interpretative method of generalization of knowledge
of various sciences, based on involvement of the history research on the theory of sociology and
architecture in art. In the second part of the article а semiotic method of describing the style-forming
features of the minimalist architecture based on social interpretation of architectural space and forms
that contains in it is applied.
In the study, the author revealed the architectural and artistic means of representation of socially
important values of a consumer society in minimalist architecture. On the basis of an interdisciplinary
approach to research involving the theory of sociology and architecture the article presents the
analysis of the artistic features of the architecture Minimalism, based on which it can be concluded
that the language of architectural minimalism is an artistic means of broadcast of socially important
goods of the consumer society, providing a high quality of life
