Review on the book V. S. Christophorov «Afghanistan: the militar y-politica l presence of the USSR in 1979—1989»

Abstract

In the review it is noted that the book of V. Khristoforov is devoted to a topical and important
from the scientific point of view that it is written on the basis of a broad source base that includes
rare archival documents, periodical press materials, materials from the author's personal archive. The
review emphasizes that the structure of the monograph is logical and consistent, it allowed the author
to successfully solve complex research problems. Among the most plots of the monograph are plots
devoted to the history of the relationship between the Afghan and Soviet state security agencies and
the armed forces.
